Solemn proclamation issued for Sheinbaum as president

The Chamber of Deputies issued the Solemn Proclamation which reports on the validity of the election and the declaration as “first elected president of the United Mexican States to serve from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2030” Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

As established in article 23, numeral 3 of the Organic Law of the Chamber of Deputies, the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies must issue the Solemn Proclamation to be published in the Official Gazette of the Federation, in the Newspapers officials of the federative entities and be established “in the main public offices of the federative entities and municipalities.”

The objective of the Solemn Proclamation is to make known throughout the Mexican Republic that the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) notified the presidency of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies of the sixty-sixth Legislature of the Congress of the Union“the opinion regarding the final count of the elections of the United Mexican States, declaration of the validity of the election and declaration of the president-elect.”

It is reported that the candidateClaudia Sheinbaum Pardo nominated by the coalition Let’s Keep Making History, made up of the Labor Party (PT), the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) and Morena, obtained the majority of votes in the election for the presidency of the United Mexican States.

The document also reports that the “election of the presidency of the United Mexican States is valid because it complies with the constitutional principles” and that “the citizen Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo meets the eligibility requirements.”

Once the Board of Directors informed the Plenary of the publication of the Solemn Announcement, from the seats of the deputies of Morena, PVEM and PT sShouts of “President! President!” were heard.
