Ossimane: secrets of the first edition of the summer universities entitled “Essock Y’Oyone”

During three days last August, more than three hundred (300) people gathered on the majority, daughters and sons of Woleu-Ntem province around a concept they called “Essock Y’Oyone », which means, conclave the summer or even, the summer universities with the theme, “Woleu-Ntem development, OSSIMINE vision”. So there were five themes for these meetings, namely; the economy and infrastructure, social and health, sport, youth and culture, education and training and finally, politics.

It was under the high patronage of the Transitional President, the Head of State, Brigadier General, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, that the first edition of the summer universities, organized by the Ossimane associate structure in Woleu-Ntem province, was held.

For three days last August, the information of sons and daughters ” natural rock » came together to think of a stronger, more dynamic, more radiant and united Woleu-Ntem through visible, visual and concrete development.

The discussions focused mainly on the current situation and recommendations for the future. In fact, each commission made a clear diagnosis to achieve lasting solutions. That diagnosis revealed several deficiencies at all levels. Based on this opinion, recommendations were made, including:

Economy :

-Construction of a unit to process cassava and banana tubers into flour, and to produce paper from banana pulp;

-Construction of a peanut oil refining unit;

-Creating craft markets in each department to promote non-timber forest products and local know-how

-Resume construction of the FE 2 hydroelectric dam.

Professional education and training :

-Effectively opening a University to international standards (this University must take into account provincial specificities, namely mining, timber and agronomy)

-Building a Multi-Sectoral Center in Oyem as well as school complexes, CES in the districts and technical high schools in each district and reforming the Vocational Training Centers taking into account the specificities of each Department;

—Building roads and rehabilitating those who cannot do it in every season to bring the school closer to the Learners.

Health and Social :

– Establishing an aid system for vulnerable people in the province;

-Identify areas without dispensaries or Health Centers and build new ones, like Zogone;

– Developing Ossimane’s lobbying policy with public and private authorities: positioning Ossimane as a link between the province’s associations at national and international level.

Policy

—Increase in the number of electoral seats that will be sufficient in accordance with the demographic criterion and its size;

-Creating synergy with different groups of Actors who are favorable to YES in the referendum (Politicians, Associations and Personalities)

-Creating an Association of Local Council Presidents that will receive funding from a special fund with 10% subsidies from non-governmental organizations

Sport, culture and youth

-Building a multi-sector training center for young people with difficulties;

-Construction of the Ossimane Culture House in each Department (modern recording studios, performance halls, museums and television channels).

In addition, the workshops issued the following general recommendations:

General recommendations:

-Establishing a contribution scale for OSSIMINE members as well as an effective recovery mechanism;

-Review the composition of the OSSIMANE Executive Office to further integrate women;

– Establish a mechanism to monitor the proposals of Ossimane Universities.

The appointment has been made for next year.
