Iraqi Drilling Company Completes Rehabilitation of Two Oil Wells in Basra »

The Ministry of Oil announced today, Tuesday, the completion of the rehabilitation of two oil wells in Basra by the Iraqi Drilling Company.

A statement by the ministry received by the (INA) stated that “within the Ministry of Oil’s efforts and keenness to maintain production in the oil fields, the technical and engineering staff of the Iraqi Drilling Company completed the reclamation of two oil wells in the Zubair and West Qurna/1 oil fields.”
The company’s Deputy Director General, Kazem Habash Khalif, said according to the statement: “The oil well reclamation process in the Zubair field comes within the contract concluded with the Italian company ENI and Great Well Oil Services Company,” indicating that “the reclamation process in the West Qurna 1 field was carried out in cooperation with PetroChina Oil Services Company.”
He explained that “the reclamation operations of oil wells aim to activate the productive layers and increase the reservoir pressures, which contributes to enhancing the level of production according to the operational plan of the field, and this is positively reflected in achieving sustainability in the oil production of the fields.”
