It seems that not even Steven Knight can wait without letting things slip. Honestly, the creator of Peaky Blinders didn’t say anything shocking, apart from calling the cast of the film adaptation “stunning.”

However, this information was enough to create a frenzy online, especially among the fans of the series who are now experiencing withdrawal.

As has already been known for some time, Cillian Murphy will reprise his role as Tommy Shelby, while Knight emphasized that the other additions to the cast are also very “strong”: “We have announced Rebecca Ferguson and Barry Keoghan, and we will make more announcements,” Knight said to a BBC reporter at the Royal Television Society conference in London, adding that in his mind, he wished there had been a book adaptation of the series prior to the film. The cinema simply got to it first.

The film, based on the multi-award-winning series that lasted 6 seasons, from 2013 to 2022, is set during World War II and will be made in collaboration with BBC Film.

The direction is handled by Tom Harper, with Steven Knight, Cillian Murphy, Caryn Mandabach, and Guy Heeley jointly taking on the production.
