Those rejecting the “Peace Treaty” and Nikol do not offer the society another reasonable solution, another model for the future, another strategic option for post-war reconstruction.
Society begins to run away from reality, atomizes and rejects everything.
Aliyev understands this well and almost literally says that peace is possible if Armenia accepts the fact of its present and future historical barrenness: without a goal, without a dream, without a memory, without a sense of right to the motherland and its spiritual heritage. They want to get a “cattle society” from us.
This was not a necessary course after defeat, and this situation could have been avoided. But in 2021, the 680,000-strong Armenian electoral army attacked statehood under the influence.
In recent days, two high-ranking and authoritative clergymen of the church talked about the idea of rematch. This was one of the unique attempts to give our meaningless present value, idea, vision.
This was immediately noticed in Azerbaijan. In Armenia, chronic KPs are terrified of the word “revenge” like leprosy, without understanding what it is.
Revenge means recovering as a person, recovering as a dignified society, as a state with a future, an Armenian world with spiritual values.
Revenge does not in any way mean a new war. Moreover, the final goal of the rematch is the establishment of peaceful relations with all neighbors, and perhaps first of all with Azerbaijan. But revenge also means spiritual and historical memory, and the right to our magnificent cities and villages of Artsakh, Amaras, Gandzasar, the graves of our ancestors and our heroes, our homes.
It is very good that our spiritual fathers went down the path of using that word, and it is also an order to the political and civil entities to formulate other, perhaps better, formulas for our survival. The lack of this is the secret of Nikoli’s staying in power until today, the reason for Azerbaijan’s bottomless demands.
After the war, R. Kocharyan, I think, found the right wording during Posner’s program. “Excessively unfair peace cannot be lasting and permanent.”
This could become our narrative of the war negotiations, our negotiating position, which would be understandable for both the mediators and the opponent, and most importantly, it would give the Armenian society an opportunity to straighten its back. “Dignified peace” was the essence of this concept. But R. Kocharyan later withdrew, unfortunately he did not develop this important line for the state.
Today, there is Azerbaijan, which has strategic thinking, knows what it wants in terms of 5-15-25 years, and there is Armenia, whose horizon of thinking and calculation does not go beyond 5 weeks.
It is not Aliyev’s fault that our political thought did not move forward from the fruitless chanting of “Armenia without a Turk”. Moreover, with our primitiveness, we divided small Armenia with a fake barricade of pro-Russians and pro-Westerners, not realizing that Turkey is leading the real process.
Today, the main idea of consolidating the already lost people is the rejection of the state in its various manifestations.
2021-2023 the reason for the tragedies was the inability of our state thinking to understand the situation and formulate goals. It was the basis of the state drift and the impulsive attack, and it will also be the reason for our upcoming losses.
How to prevent this? the monopoly of creating our future should be taken from the hands of this government. This is done exclusively with intelligence, putting forward another serious concept and putting a serious system in front of it.
