/ The United States has offered a reward of $15 million for information on Iranian businessman Hossein Hatfi Ardekani, who runs an international network that helped the Iranian Revolutionary Guard obtain advanced technology to develop combat means, including attack drones, according to the Rewards for Justice website of the US State Department.
The US Department of Justice announced the filing of an indictment against Iranian Hossein Hatef Ardakani and Chinese Gary Lam, who work for a Chinese company, for committing crimes related to the purchase of microelectronics manufactured in the United States for use in equipping advanced weapons and drones belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
The US Treasury Department has decided to monitor the foreign assets of Ardakani and other individuals involved in the procurement network that Ardakani uses to support Iran’s production of drones.
Who is Ardakani? He was born in the city of Ardakan in Yazd province, central Iran. He holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Bahrad Kavan Electronics Company”, which was officially registered in Iran on 7/13/2016, and its headquarters are located in the capital, Tehran.
The company says, according to what was published by official Iranian media, that it “is active in the field of supplying, producing, packaging, distributing, purchasing, selling, importing and exporting all communications devices and all permitted commercial goods.”
It also “concludes contracts with all natural and legal persons, obtains loans and facilities in riyals and foreign currencies from all local and foreign banks and financial and credit institutions, participates in all public and private tenders and auctions, establishes branches throughout the country, holds conferences, seminars, and general and specialized exhibitions, and participates in.”
Hossein Hatef Ardekani also heads two other companies registered in Iran, namely Basamed Dynamic Electronic Frequency Engineering Company and Negin Kavir, in addition to being a member of the board of directors of Tadbir Aria Engineering Company.
The Tadbir Aria Engineering Company was the first company established by Hatef Ardekani on June 26, 2012, as reported by the Iranian website “Rasmiyo”, which is concerned with the activities of commercial companies.
There are no photos of Hossein Hatef Ardakani, and the Iranian media has not covered any of his companies’ activities, suggesting that he may be operating under another name.
