Ukraine war: Putin troops bomb houses in Borodjanka

by time news

There are pictures of complete devastation: The troops of Kremlin tyrant Vladimir Putin (69) have in the Ukrainian Settlement Borodyanka destroyed several houses. The buildings are only 50 kilometers from the capital Kyiv.

The extent of the destruction makes it clear that the houses were probably hit by heavy artillery or a ballistic missile.

The former Ukrainian ambassador to Austria, Olexander Scherba (51), wrote on Twitter: “Borodjanka near Kyiv has been practically wiped out.”

One thing is clear: the Russian soldiers are advancing ever further towards the capital. In the past few days, satellite images have shown a 64-kilometer convoy of military vehicles: tanks, howitzers, missiles, trucks.

Since Monday, Putin’s military has been trying to flank the capital and set up a siege ring around the city of over a million inhabitants. With fatal consequences: The supply of food and medicine is limited.

BUT: Kyiv is not surrounded yet!

A senior Western intelligence official told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung: “The Russians probably believe that Ukraine’s defenses will collapse if they take Kyiv.”

Because of the strong Ukrainian resistance, he added: “That could be a miscalculation.”

Accordingly, Russia is preparing a full-scale attack on the capital, which will reach a new level of violence and destruction.

However, it is not to be expected that the troops will advance quickly into the center of Kyiv, said the secret service man. It was too dangerous for the tanks there.

Instead, he initially expects massive attacks on Ukrainian defense positions on the outskirts of the city – with bombs dropped from airplanes, rockets and heavy artillery.

Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko (50) said in a BILD interview on Wednesday: “We protect our city at all costs.” An attack “could happen at any second”.

“There is no choice but to defend yourself. Ultimately, it is our home. Where the parents are buried, where the children go to school, where unfortunately civilians have been killed,” said boxing legend Wladimir Klitschko.

In the evening, BILD reporter Paul Ronzheimer from Kyiv reported explosions in the capital – near the city center. The sirens wailed several times.

Ukrainian officials located one of the blasts between the South Train Station and the Ibis Hotel, an area near Ukraine’s Defense Ministry. The office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (44) announced on Wednesday evening that it was a rocket attack.

According to initial reports, a heating line near the station was hit.
