O’zapft is! While Ralf Schumacher misses the first moments of the Oktoberfest 2024, his partner Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne is now celebrating in Munich.
In July, Ralf Schumacher introduced his partner Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne on Instagram. Since then, the two have appeared side by side several times, including in other posts and in a love interview with RTL. It was all the more surprising that Bousquet-Cassagne now appeared at the Oktoberfest in Munich without Schumacher – but why?
Dressed in traditional costume and adorned with a gingerbread heart, Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne waves to a passerby at the Oktoberfest float and his followers in an Instagram story. Other fans of the folk festival can be seen at his side – but not Ralf Schumacher.
Sports fans shouldn’t be surprised. The former racing driver is currently working as a Formula 1 commentator for the Singapore Grand Prix for the broadcaster Sky. He still reminds us of Oktoberfest. “It’s about to start for us. Qualifying in Singapore and of course for the Oktoberfest opening in Lederhosen,” he writes in an Instagram photo in which he can be seen in a studio next to his colleague Sascha Roos in traditional clothing.
Schumacher probably did not travel to Southeast Asia for his job, but is likely to be in the Sky broadcasting center in Unterföhring near Munich and will join his partner in the evening. In an Instagram post, Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne wrote on Saturday: “Munich is a beautiful city, full of friendly, festive people. Six million visitors are expected and I will be at the Kufflers wine tent for dinner this evening with Ralf and some friends.” He also shared some impressions of the festival, which you can see if you click to the right in the following post.
Apparently the Frenchman has taken a liking to the German folk festival. “It’s a magical moment to be part of the biggest event in Europe,” he enthuses in his post, also delighting his followers. “It’s great that you like the Munich Oktoberfest. Ralf is currently sitting in the studio wearing lederhosen,” writes a fan.
“Étienne, I hope you and Ralf have a lot of fun at the Oktoberfest” and “Have fun in the most beautiful city in Germany. You are a lovely couple,” read other comments.
