The European Championship for Armenian boxers ended in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Everything was decided after the 56 kg semi-final match, when Aram Avagyan from Yerevan finished the match with Mykola Butsenko from Ukraine with equal points (29:28, 28:28, 28:29). The simple sympathy of one of the referees for the Ukrainian athlete played a decisive role. This is reported by the official website of the Ukrainian National Association of Armenians.
Thus, out of 6 athletes of the Armenian national team, only Aram Avagyan managed to return home with a bronze medal.
