The PSC fined “Electric Networks of Armenia” CJSC with 10 million drams for writing larger statements for the electricity consumed by residents.
The number of statements recorded by the employees of the company in the statement recording forms in the period from May 1-3, 2020 with 63 counters (and in the case of electronic counters, also the expenses of the previous month) were greater than those recorded by the working group in the period from May 4-8, 2020 the readings from the same commercial counters.
“The listed violations directly led to the violation of the rights of a group of consumers. As for the Company’s clarifications, they cannot be considered as objective reasons for the committed violations and exempt the latter from the responsibility applied to them, and based on parts 1 and 6 of Article 42 of the “Energy” Law, the Commission decides:
1. Fine the Company in the amount of AMD 10,000,000 (ten million) for violating the requirements of Clauses 37, 41 and 43 of the Rules,” the decision published by the commission states.
