jpnn.comJAKARTA – Chairman of the MPR RI Bambang Soesatyo or Bamsoet said that the joint meeting of the leadership of his institution agreed that the inauguration of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia agreed on something new.
According to him, the inauguration of Prabowo-Gibran and the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the next period will be perfected by an MPR Decree.
Because, said the Deputy Chairman of Golkar, the process of inauguration of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia has so far only been through the Decree of the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Minutes of Inauguration.
He said this after leading a Joint Meeting of the MPR Leadership with the Leaders of the Faction and DPD Groups in Tangerang, Monday (23/9).
“The existence of the MPR Decree on the Inauguration of the President and Vice President is stated in the Amendment to the MPR Rules of Procedure, namely in Article 120 Paragraph 3 which states that the Inauguration of the President and Vice President is stipulated by an MPR Decree,” said Bamsoet in his press statement, Tuesday (24/9).
According to him, the inauguration of Prabowo-Gibran through the MPR Decree is administrative in nature to follow up on the Decree of the General Election Commission (KPU) regarding the Determination of Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates who received the most votes in the General Election.
“This is in accordance with the MPR’s authority to inaugurate the President and/or Vice President as regulated in Article 3 paragraph (2) of the 1945 NRI Constitution,” said Bamsoet.
It is known that the joint meeting of the MPR leadership was attended by Ahmad Basarah, Lestari Moerdijat, Jazilul Fawaid, Syarief Hasan, Hidayat Nur Wahid, and Fadel Muhammad.
