RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and RF Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, as co-chairs of the Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, discussed the topical issues of the Armenian-Russian bilateral agenda through a teleconference.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia and Russia presented the situation created in the countries with the spread of the coronavirus infection and the results of measures to neutralize the consequences of the infection.
Both sides emphasized the importance of organizing discussions in this format in this difficult situation, from the point of view of discussing the implementation of the measures of the protocol of the 19th session of the intergovernmental commission and exchanging ideas on other issues of bilateral interest.
Using the opportunity, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan thanked the Russian Federation on behalf of the Government for its support, particularly in the field of healthcare. In his turn, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister noted that Russia will continue to support Armenia in the fight against the pandemic.
During the working discussion, issues related to the cooperation between Armenia and Russia in the trade-economic, industrial, transport, energy, humanitarian and financial spheres were addressed.
An agreement was reached to hold the 20th session of the Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Armenia in the third quarter of this year. The co-chairs of the commission have agreed to give instructions to the relevant departments to shape the agenda of the next session and to ensure the effective implementation of already approved measures.
