Simon Martirosyan, competing in the +94 weight category at the World Junior and Girls Weightlifting Championship, won the first place and was declared the world champion, having recorded a result of 365 kg in the doubles.
He lifted 165 kg in the snatch, winning a small silver, and won a small gold in the push with 200 kg. Simon Martirosyan is from the “Sevan” company and trains at the Jararat sports school under the guidance of coach Ashot Pilosyan. Let’s remind that the World Youth and Girls Weightlifting Championship was held in Tashkent, where our youth weightlifters obtained all possible tickets for the Youth Olympic Games to be held in China in August 2014. Unfortunately, in this championship, our girls did not get a ranking for the Youth Olympic Games, which they will try to do in the European Championship next year.
