Beloved Greek Actor Nikos Iliopoulos Passes Away, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Art and Friendship

by time news
The actor Nikos Iliopoulos has passed away. The unfortunate news was announced by Spyros Bibilas through a post on social media, in which he wrote: “A beloved friend has left us, my close classmate from the Dramatic School of the Piraeus Association, the sensitive actor Nikos Iliopoulos… We played together in our early years at the Askitiko Theater and on television in James Paris’s last series ‘The Battle of the Storks’ where the earthquake of ’81 found us on set…” and added:

“Since then, he became a successful radio producer at ERT where his shows left a mark as he invited all the greats of music and theater… In the ERT studios, I got to know up close on his shows Kaiti Grey, Rita, Giovana, Cleo Denardou, Tasso Kavadia, among others. Later, he began to write and authored wonderful novels against the backdrop of the destruction of Minor Asia. After his retirement, he successfully engaged with the amateur theater groups of Megara that he loved, where he lived and from where he originated… Niko, you left us too soon… I will always remember the craziness of our youthful years… Safe travels with love…”.
