The Ministry of Finance has formed a 6-member committee to determine the next steps to ensure the smooth management of Capital Market Stabilization Fund (CMSF).

On September 26, a notification published by the Treasury and Debt Management Department of the Ministry of Finance said that this committee would be formed. It was signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Kazi Lutful Hasan.

The members of the constituted committee are – Additional Secretary of Finance Department, Convenor of Treasury and Debt Management Division, Additional Secretary of Finance Department, Member of Debt Management, Competent Representative of Ministry of Commerce, Registrar of Joint Venture Companies and Firms, Competent Representative of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) and Financial Institutions. Member Secretary of the Department.

As mentioned in the notification, a 6-member committee has been formed to determine the next steps to ensure proper management of the Capital Market Stabilization Fund (CMSF). Also, the committee has been instructed to submit the report within the next 10 working days.

The committee will determine the actions to be taken, make recommendations regarding the management of the funds and perform various functions to ensure sound management of CMSF funds.

Incidentally, on August 22, 2021, BSEC approved the 11-member Board of Governors of Capital Market Stabilization Fund of Tk 20,000 crore to improve the capital market and eliminate the liquidity crisis.
