On October 4, the first meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Culture was held as part of the autumn session of 2024.
This was reported to Day.Az in the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan.
Opening the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Committee Gunay Efendieva noted that the agenda for today’s meeting included three issues.
First, the first item on the agenda was presented – the draft work plan of the Culture Committee for the autumn session of 2024. Gunay Efendiyeva brought to attention that the document provides for the discussion of bills introduced as a legislative initiative, as well as changes that will be made to existing laws. Presenting the bills, she noted that the bills were presented by the head of state to the Milli Majlis as a legislative initiative.
The deputy chairman of the committee informed about the proposed changes, noting that the agenda of the meeting included a draft law on amendments to the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Tourism” (first reading). According to her, the changes will become an integral part of the targeted policy pursued in the field of tourism in our country and will create the basis for improving legislation in this area.
Speaking on the third issue of the agenda, the deputy chairman of the committee noted that the additions and changes provided for in the draft law of the Azerbaijan Republic on amendments to the laws of the Azerbaijan Republic “On Copyright and Related Rights”, “On Library Science”, “On Education of Persons with Disabilities” Health Opportunities (Special Education)” and “About the Post Office” will serve to further strengthen the legal foundations of the ongoing state policy in the field of protecting the rights of persons with disabilities.
At the end of the meeting, the committee’s work plan for the autumn session of 2024 was approved, and the bills submitted for discussion were recommended for consideration at the plenary meeting of the Milli Majlis.
Committee members also attended the meeting Ulvia Agaeva, Shahin Seizade, Mikhail Zabelin and other officials.
