Russia-Ukraine War: The British Times reported today (Friday) that since the Russian invasion, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zlansky has survived three difficult attempts in his life. Attempts to assassinate were thwarted when Russian civilians opposed to the war informed Ukrainian intelligence of two groups of mercenaries planning to carry out the operations.

It was also reported that behind two of the attempts was the Kremlin-backed Wagner mercenary group and that so far Moscow has denied direct involvement in the assassination plot. A diplomatic source told the Times that “the force entered Ukraine to carry out the mission and that beheading a president is a huge task. In terms of influencing Russian sovereign policy, this was perhaps their biggest mission so far, it will have a big impact on the war.”

The Times reported last Monday that more than 400 mercenaries were in Kiev under orders from the Kremlin to assassinate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalansky and government officials in order to prepare the ground for the conquest of Kyiv. According to the report, the Wagner group is led by Vladimir Putin’s allies. The London newspaper added that militia members had been trained in Africa for five weeks, and they were rewarded for it with a handsome salary.
