“Armenia urges the mediating parties to ensure the continuity of the negotiations on the platforms where they started,” Khandanyan said in a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly.
He said that Armenia considers it possible to sign a peace treaty in the near future.
“We are in a constructive mood, but the document should have the appearance that it will be possible for Armenia to sign,” Khandanyan said, stressing that the joint statement of Armenia and Azerbaijan, which was published yesterday, will have a positive effect on the signing of the peace treaty.
According to the deputy, Armenia will sign the peace agreement when it is sure that it will be in Armenia’s interest.
“Armenia insists that Azerbaijan should reaffirm its commitment to recognize the territorial integrity of Armenia,” Khandanyan emphasized.
