During the discussion of the draft amendment of the “Diplomatic Service” law at the extraordinary session of the National Assembly‘s foreign relations committee, Maria Karapetyan, deputy of the “My Step” faction, clarified what the possibility of the enabling norm was said.

“Without this law, RA cannot appoint a military attaché in any country for official matters. We are removing that ban. It cannot be done anywhere, regardless of whether there are building conditions, whether there is a budget or not,” he said.

According to Maria Karapetyan, today the state intends to appoint a military attaché in one country. “Now I notice that in the intentions of our country there is an intention to appoint a military attache in at least one country, and from our analysis it is clear that there are building conditions in that particular country. Now we are saying that the government can, not must, appoint a military attaché in all countries, let’s put a number, let’s say, we allocate so much money, but the government did not have a permissible norm for appointing at least one country until now,” he said. countering the assertion of Armen Rustamyan, deputy of the “Armenia” faction, that the project was brought incomplete, without a financial calculation, because it implies an inflation of the budget.

Armen Rustamyan responded that it doesn’t matter, he is not against the bans being removed, but he is against the fact that an unprepared project is being brought.

“Now you say: at least one country, I don’t see any record about that country, there is no such record, we adopt a law, there is order,” he said.
