The publication of the vote count for the 1st round of Municipal Elections 2024 will begin at 5pm this Sunday (6), Brasilia time (DF), shortly after the end of voting, as established by the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE). The spread will be in real time.
The results of the votes for the position of mayor, deputy mayor and councillor, including blank votes, void votes and abstentions, can be followed on the TSE Portal, ie by mobile phone or computer.
The publication of the results includes the votes cast for candidates and parties (legacy voting), as well as information on the status of those votes: if valid, sub judice (with appeal pending judgment) or void.
The process for revealing the results of the 2024 Elections is set out in TSE Resolution No. 23.736/2024which governs the general actions of the election process and covers all the basic procedures on election day.
Vehicles of communication
Interested media outlets will be able to follow the data transmission and, in cities with more than 200,000 voters, the update will also be presented by electoral area. In all municipalities in the country, the results will be updated at each (on average every three minutes).
The aim of the measure is to maintain efficiency and speed with security in data processing, because this is the first time, in a municipal election, that voting times throughout the country will be standardized according to Brasília (DF) time.
The rules regarding publication of results by media outlets are listed in sections 216 and 221 of the Conradh na Gaeilge TSE Resolution No. 23,736/2024. The Court’s Information Technology Secretariat is available to the technical area of vehicles to answer any questions by email [email protected].
