Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei considered that the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation “set Israel back 70 years,” while the Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed that it is at the peak of readiness to respond to any Israeli strike.
Khamenei’s tweet, in Hebrew, came on Monday morning, coinciding with the one-year anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7th.
In last Friday’s sermon, Khamenei described the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation as “a logical and correct move that is the right of the Palestinian people.”
In response to Israeli threats, Tehran expressed its readiness to receive a response to its ballistic attack last week, and warned Tel Aviv that it was ready to launch a counterattack, which threatens the conflict to turn into a direct war.
While Iran canceled flights to and from its airports, an Iranian military official confirmed that his country had prepared a plan to respond to the potential Israeli attack by launching “specific counter-strikes,” noting that Iran possesses a “target bank” inside Israel, and that the recent Iranian missile attack “demonstrated the ability to Destroy any point.
In addition, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards’ naval unit, Ali Reza Tengsiri, said that his forces are evaluating all “enemy” scenarios in the Gulf, in reference to striking Iranian ports.
On the other hand, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant warned Iran of destruction similar to what is happening in Gaza and Beirut.
For its part, the Hamas movement said on the one-year anniversary of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” that “the seventh of glorious October was a historic station in our struggle project, such that this station constituted a natural response to the hatched Zionist plans aimed at liquidating our national cause.”
Hamas added, “This aggressive war, which has been ongoing for a full year, has left more than 41,000 martyrs, and more than 96,000 wounded and injured, and thousands are still missing under the rubble and rubble, in addition to thousands of detainees, in the Gaza Strip alone.”
