Varanasi: Sparsh Darshan in Kashi Vishwanath Temple has been banned till further orders. Due to the crowd of devotees in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, a woman had fallen into the Argha of Kashi Vishwanath. The live video of this incident went viral. After the video went viral, people on social media raised questions on the sensitivity of the temple administration towards common devotees. Seeing the incident taking place, the temple administration regretted the incident and banned Sparsh Darshan till further orders. On Monday, like normal days, the sanctum sanctorum was opened for Sparsh Darshan for one hour from 4 pm onwards. In this one hour, there is relaxation for common devotees to have Sparsh Darshan of Kashi Vishwanath. On Monday too, like normal days, common devotees were allowed entry into the sanctum sanctorum after worship. However, due to the large number and chaos, suddenly a large number of devotees entered the small sanctum sanctorum.
Security personnel took charge of the situation
Meanwhile, due to the crowd, a woman became unbalanced and fell on the Shivalinga inside the Argha. As soon as the woman fell, another man fell on her. Somehow, the security personnel and archakas of the temple present there took control of the situation and rescued the woman safely.
Sparsh Darshan will remain closed till further orders
After the video went viral, people started raising questions that on one hand, VVIPs and big donors are being given good Sparsh Darshan. On the other hand, no arrangements are made for common devotees. Seeing the incident, the temple administration issued a statement expressing regret over the incident and said that the door of the sanctum sanctorum was opened between Saptarishi and Shringaar Aarti.
Suddenly the crowd of devotees went out of control and entered the sanctum sanctorum, due to which two devotees fell down. The live video of this incident went viral. Taking cognizance of the incident, the temple administration has limited the tableau to darshan. Till further orders, arrangements for darshan for everyone will remain under these two arrangements only.
