The Sixth Court of Oral Criminal Trial of Santiago sentenced an individual to 10 years and one day in prison for the crime of child abduction occurred in October 2022 in San Joaquin.

In relation to quantum of the sentence, the court decided “according to the extent of the harm caused, as provided in the article 69 of the Penal Code”.

It was also highlighted that “there is the circumstance indicated by the affected person, by his mother and father, who indicated that, as a consequence of this situation, there was a resurgence of a disease what caused alopeciathis being a direct damage generated by the event.”

The resolution also noted that “the threat to the protected legal asset of personal safety and freedom of movement of the minor occurred in a short time (4 minutes according to the image presented by the pursuing entity and shown to the official Ortega Villalobos) and that the accused and the minor walked through a bounded distance of 300 meters.”
