Armenian trucks have successfully crossed the Armenian-Georgian border and will soon be escorted to the next customs point according to the established procedure.
The Ministry of Economy of the RA and the State Revenue Committee are in operational contact with the transport operators in order to organize cargo transportation without obstacles.
It should be reminded that by the decision of the Government of Georgia on March 2, changes were made in the action plans to prevent the possible spread of the new coronavirus in Georgia and to quickly respond to new cases of the coronavirus.
The changes also include escorting cargo vehicles transiting from one border checkpoint to another through the territory of Georgia from countries with a high risk of coronavirus infection, with the presence of an escort (together with their crew).
Drivers of vehicles found in areas recognized as a risk zone by the World Health Organization are replaced by another individual who does not belong to the risk group.
Full disinfection of the vehicle is carried out under the supervision of an authorized officer of the customs service, and the driver of the truck (foreign citizen) who drove the vehicle while crossing the border is sent back or, depending on the clinical condition, is quarantined / transferred to a medical facility.
