Rashmi Khatri, Dehradun: The weather is strange in Uttarakhand. The heat during the day and slight cold at night are troubling people. People who walk wearing light clothes during the day are facing slight cold in the evening. The difference between day and night temperatures is increasing. Due to which the health of children and the elderly is also being adversely affected. The weather department has predicted dry weather for the coming few days. There are no chances of rain. The effect of monsoon seems to be completely gone from the state. There are chances of increase in cold due to fall in mercury. Cold has started in the hilly districts of Uttarakhand. In the mountains, people have come out with warm clothes, but in the plains people are still walking wearing light clothes. Due to cold in the evening, people traveling in vehicles are facing problems because cold winds have started increasing the chill. Cold may increase due to further drop in mercury in the next few days.

On Monday, Dehradun became cloudy in the afternoon and the weather became rainy. There was drizzle in some areas of Dehradun while in some places the weather cleared after drizzle. Due to rapid falling of mercury at night, it is becoming slightly cold in the morning and night. At the same time, due to strong sunlight during the day, the heat persists. In view of such weather, doctors are advising people to wear warm clothes.
Obstacles are coming in the way
Even though the weather is clear in the state, roads are being blocked at some places. The motor road is closed in Rudraprayag district, while three roads are blocked in Chamoli. On Monday afternoon, landslides started from the hill at Raturisera on Gangotri Highway. Due to this, vehicles started getting delayed on both sides but in Shop Raturisera, BRO is doing treatment work on the hill.
The landslide became active while cutting the hill in Raturisera. Borders and debris are continuously falling from the hill. Due to this, vehicles are getting stuck on both sides of the highway.
