One medal from the Sambo World Student Cup

From November 30 to December 2, the “Ak Bars” sports complex in the city of Kazan, Russia, hosted the Sambo World Cup among students, in which about 200 athletes from 41 countries of the world participated.

First-year student of Gyumri Pedagogical Institute, Sambo 2012, participated in the tournament from the Republic of Armenia. Gor Mayilyan, the champion of the world and European youth championships and a first-year student of the Vanadzor branch of the State Institute of Physical Culture, the champion of the sambo charity and European 2012. championship bronze medalist Tigran Kirakosyan.

Unfortunately, Gor lost the fight to enter the finals of the 62 kg weight class and as a result took the 5th place, and Tigran, after one defeat, won the subsequent wrestling matches and won the bronze medal, taking the 3rd place in the 52 kg weight class. This was reported by the Sambo Federation of Armenia.

It should be noted that the World Sambo Universiade will take place in 2013.
