QJMotor Super9 2025
When talking about Chinese motorcycles, it’s not uncommon for many to think of images of blatant copies of European or Japanese models, with the occasional lawsuit involved. But the story of the QJMotor SRK921 Super9 is a little more complicated than a simple copy of the MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro. And yes, it is true that its price is 90% lower. but there’s more at play here than just overt imitation.
For starters, this Super9 is not a “pirated copy” in the traditional sense. Indeedhas the approval of MV Agusta, because the link between QJMotor and MV was born from a commercial collaboration signed a few years ago. It all started in 2020, when MV Agusta and Qianjiang Motor (the parent company of QJMotor) agreed on a long-term partnership. This alliance allowed the distribution of MV motorcycles in China, but also that some of their motorcycles were produced there. The plan also included the development of more accessible models with MV Agusta technology, as in the case of this Super9.
In this way, the SRK921 Super9 not only resembles a Superveloce, but is, in part, a Superveloce. Indeed, They share the four-cylinder engine and much of the engineering. Of course, this situation is very different from cases where Chinese brands simply clone a design without permission.
The Super9 has a 921cc engine, based on an MV Agusta design that we already know. If that cubicism sounds familiar, that’s becauseBrutale 920 used a similar version a few years agoand the engine has been redesigned for an MV prototype in 2022, the MV Agusta 921S. So, although made in China, the DNA of this engine is still Italian.
This engine generates 127 hp at 10,000 rpmwhich despite not being the 208 horsepower of a Superveloce 1000, are still more than decent for a bike that costs ten times less. In direct comparison, the Super9 is even inferior to the most accessible Superveloce model, the Superveloce 800, with a three-cylinder engine and 147 HP.

The Super9 also shares its chassis with QJMotor’s superbike, the SRK921RR, which in turn is based on the MV Brutale. It is no coincidence: the collaboration between the two brands means exactly this QJMotor can use MV Agusta designand this is reflected in details such as the single-sided swingarm, something we typically associate with the MV Agusta.
The fairing of the Super9 clearly resembles that of the Superveloce, especially with the side spoilers and aerodynamic lines. Even the exhaust, with its four outlets stacked on one side, is very similar to the triple exhaust of the Superveloce 800. At first glance it seems like a blatant copy, but taking into account the relationship between the two brands, we could rather call it a “licensed tribute”.
What isn’t clear is who did the planning. In the past, QJMotor has collaborated with Italian design studios such as C-Creativefounded by former MV Agusta design managers. However, this doesn’t appear to be the case with the Super9, as it’s unlikely that the same studio would be involved in a project that “mimics” an iconic design so closely.
MV Agusta Superveloce 800
Despite its low price, the Super9 is no different in terms of technology and components. Comes with a Fully adjustable Marzocchi forkshock absorber and steering damper always Marzocchi (note that Qianjiang is the one who produces the suspensions with this brand). The brakes are supplied by Brembo.with radial calipers, and as expected on a modern motorcycle, includes a color TFT panel, with all the electronic aids we are used to.
As for the weight, with 208 kilos in running orderthe Super9 isn’t quite a flagship, but it’s still competitive in its category. A curious fact is that it weighs a little less than the SRK921RR, which indicates that QJMotor has made some changes to this semi-faired version.
Now let’s talk numbers, because that’s what really puts the Super9 on the radar of many. While in Spain a MV Agusta Superveloce 800 costs around 23,765 euros and its bigger sister, the 1000 Serie Oro, reaches up to 78,000 euros, It is estimated that the Super9 will cost around 9,500 euros in China. That is, 62% less than the Superveloce 800, a percentage that reaches 90% if we compare it with the exotic and very expensive Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro.

Although there is no official confirmation that the Super9 will arrive in Europe, e.gIt is possible that it will eventually be distributed under the Benelli brandalso owned by Qianjiang. It would therefore not be strange if this “economical Superveloce” ended up in our dealerships sooner or later. Although, on the other hand, it is difficult to think that MV Agusta would allow the sale of this model in our continent considering that, aesthetically, the Super9 is a carbon copy of the Superveloce family, which would end up devouring it in sales.
