Thursday, October 17, today the Orthodox Church commemorates Saint Andrew the Holy Martyr in Crisis.

• Saints Cosmas, Damian, Leontios, Anthimos and Euprepius, Anargyri of the Martyrs
• Saints Antigonus, Lucian, Terentius, Nicomedes and Theophanes

The brothers from Arabia

Saints Cosmas, Damian, Leontios, Anthimos and Euprepius were brothers from Saudi Arabia. They did many charities and attracted many to the Christian faith. This was condemned and they were arrested during the persecution of Diocletian in Lycia by the ruler in Aegean Lysias. They were martyred by beheading.

The saints Antigonus, Lucian, Terentius, Nicomedes and Theophanes are unknown in Synaxaria and Minaia. They are commemorated in the Paris Code of 1578 without biographical details.
