Europe seeks to build an economic corridor with the Gulf countries

The President of the European Commission, Ursula van der Leyen, announced that “the European Union intends to strengthen cooperation with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and build an economic corridor to increase trade in the field of renewable energy, data and exchanges between peoples.”

The President of the Commission said, through her account on the “X” platform: “She held a meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on the sidelines of the first joint summit between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union in the Belgian capital, Brussels.” She described the meeting as “good.”

She pointed out that “this summit between the leaders of the European bloc and the Gulf Cooperation Council (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar) is the first of its kind.”

The President of the European Commission stressed, “The European Union countries want to work with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to ensure the security that we all need for economic growth.”
