Two Israeli soldiers were injured in a shooting in the “Navot Hakikar” settlement, south of the Dead Sea.
The Israeli army said that it “killed two of the perpetrators of the shooting attack who crossed from Jordan towards the south of the Dead Sea.”
The Israeli army statement added: “We sent reinforcements to the scene of the incident, and we are conducting combing operations in search of a third gunman.”
The Israeli “Ynet” website confirmed, “The condition of the victims is still unclear,” noting that “there are fears that more militants will remain in the area.”
The Israeli army spokesman said, “The forces were conducting search operations in the area, and an exchange of fire took place after the Israeli army forces discovered the infiltration of terrorists from Jordanian territory.”
Who were the perpetrators of the Dead Sea operation and what was their will?
Media outlets reported, “The Jordanian citizens who infiltrated the Israeli side in the Dead Sea area and wounded two Israeli soldiers with gunfire are Husam Abu Ghazaleh and Amer Qawwas.”
The media and social networking sites circulated two video clips that they said were “of the two young men.” According to the two video clips, the first young man is called Amer Qawwas (Abu Ubaida) and the second is Hossam Abu Ghazaleh.
The two clips appear in which the two young men introduce themselves at first as “the living martyr,” then they talk about Gaza and their will. The young man, Amer Qawwas, introduces himself and says in his will: A year after what happened of killing and displacement in Gaza, and with the amount of crime from the usurping occupier and the silence. What is unfair is Gaza, the steadfast and patient pride that brought out the heroic Mujahideen who made the enemy taste the woes… I say it openly, what are we waiting for, oh sons of the Jordanian people, where are our brothers, are our consciences gone… Then he completes his will.
In the clip of the young man Hossam Abu Ghazaleh, he talked about Gaza and its suffering and said that he had hoped to visit it and join the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, “which made the enemy taste the woes.” He said that his first commandment was to his parents to forgive him if he ever sinned against them and not to be saddened by the news of his martyrdom.
