Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received the newly appointed director of the Armenian office of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Paolo Spantigatti.

Paolo Spantigatti presented to the Deputy Prime Minister the Country Partnership 2019-2023 approved by ADB. strategy and the 2020-2022 Plan of Operations.

Country Partnership 2019-2023. the strategy aims to support the inclusive growth of Armenia through infrastructure, human capital development, as well as programs implemented within the framework of regional cooperation.

Tigran Avinyan pointed out the importance of increasing the volume of support from ADB to the private sector.

The interlocutors also discussed the implementation process of the North-South road corridor project and the existing issues. Reference was made to the sustainable development of Yerevan and regional cities, improvement of energy sector, seismic safety of schools, as well as implemented and planned projects in the private sector.

The technical assistance provided to the development of Armenia’s transport strategy and the development of the civil aviation sector was also discussed.
