/ Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo missed the training of the Saudi Al-Nasr team in preparation for facing Al-Hilal, next Friday, in the top matches of the 15th round of the Roshan League.
The Saudi Al-Riyadiah newspaper said on Tuesday that Ronaldo was absent from training on the recommendation of the Al-Nasr team doctor, who preferred to rest him before repeating medical examinations to determine the nature of the injury.
Ronaldo suffered an injury in the match between Al-Nasr and Persepolis of Iran, yesterday, Monday, in the fifth round of the group stage of the AFC Champions League competition.
Ronaldo did not complete the match that was held at Al-Awal Park Stadium in Riyadh, which ended in a goalless draw. He left in the 78th minute due to a neck injury he suffered after a collision with the Iranian team’s goalkeeper while trying to rise to get a ball.
Media reports stated that the initial diagnosis of the Portuguese star’s injury indicated that he had suffered a bruise in the knee.
The result of Ronaldo’s final medical examination will indicate his position on participating in the derby match between Al Hilal and Al Nassr, which is expected to be held next Friday.
Al-Hilal leads the Saudi League standings with 38 points, four points ahead of its closest competitor, Al-Nasr.
