In a letter addressed to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), FECOFA underlines that this latest decision of the Confederation Appeal Jury definitively closes the case of the scuffles.
The Congolese Football Federation also highlighted the “close” relations it maintains with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, serving the development of football in the two sister countries.
The letter from the Congolese Federation comes following the decision of the CAF Appeal Jury to annul the sanction previously pronounced by the Disciplinary Jury against the coach of the Moroccan national team, Walid El Regragui.
The CAF Appeals Committee canceled the suspension for four matches, two of which were suspended, of national coach Walid Regragui, following the scuffles that occurred at the end of the Morocco-DR Congo match (1-1) counting for the 2nd day of the group stage of group F, as part of the African Football Cup of Nations (CAN 2023).
She also canceled the fine previously decided against the national coach. The CAF Appeal Commission made this decision after hearing the pleadings of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
The CAF Disciplinary Committee decided last Wednesday to suspend Walid Regragui for four matches, two of which were suspended. Regragui had followed the Morocco/Zambia match from the stands of the Laurent Pokou stadium in San Pedro.
