The 383 educational institutions in the province of Artemisa postponed the start of their teaching activities until October 24, in response to an instruction from the Revolutionary Government of Cuba issued last Sunday.
This measure takes into account the recovery period after Hurricane Oscar, as well as the ongoing work to restore the national electrical system, which is still ongoing.
At the time the official note was issued, in Artemisa, thanks to the collaboration of the School Transport of the Foundation Business Unit (UEB), between the 18th and 19th of this month, more than 1,600 scholarship students who were in internal centers were transferred at go to their homes, said Yarobys Álvarez Contreras, provincial director of Education.
This effort also included the students of the Eduardo Abela Vocational School, according to Ivón Álvarez, Cultúir’s professional director.
At the time of writing this information, the provincial authorities, in collaboration with the Party and the Government, were working on planning a schedule to return these students to their respective educational institutions. The priority remains to guarantee the safety and well-being of everyone involved in the educational process.
