The Ministry of High-Tech Industry has not provided support to the liquidated companies, and the temporary suspension of the companies’ activities is still not liquidation. In a conversation with “Armenpress”, RA Deputy Minister of BTA Davit Sahakyan emphasized, referring to the rumors that the support of the ministry was used by the companies that were dissolved and ceased their activities in the IT sector.

According to the government’s decision of December 1, 2022, about 7.4 billion drams of state support was provided to information technology (IT) companies in order to mitigate the losses suffered by commercial organizations and individual entrepreneurs in the IT sector due to the devaluation of the foreign currency and the global IT crisis and to preserve existing jobs. According to reports, after receiving the support, 14 of the companies ceased operations, and 4 started the liquidation process. However, the Ministry explains that the temporary suspension of activity for the sector is a possible phenomenon, and added that they also plan to carry out a separate analysis of the project.

“At the time of receiving government support, none of the companies were liquidated. Until now, there are no companies that have received aid and have actually been liquidated. only 4 companies are in liquidation process. As for the temporarily suspended companies, this is a natural process in the case of sectoral companies. Temporarily suspending the activity does not mean that these companies are closed, just that some companies, depending on certain circumstances, took a temporary break until they settle their relations with their partners,” said Sahakyan.
