Accordingly, from Wednesday to Saturday, 270 people were brought in six buses from the Slovakian-Ukrainian border to Burgenland, the governor said in a broadcast.
The displaced live in accommodation provided by private individuals. 13 orphans with three foster mothers are cared for by employees of the SOS Children’s Village Pinkafeld (Oberwart district).
Two more bus trips towards the Ukrainian border are planned for Sunday. According to Doskozil, if the current process continues, the goal of taking in 500 displaced persons in Burgenland was already achieved on Tuesday.
