The State Revenue Committee has initiated an international conference on August 23 to discuss the challenges of e-commerce taxation.
According to information and public relations department of RA SRC, SRC Chairman Davit Ananyan, Economy Minister Tigran Khachatryan and Central Bank Deputy Chairman Vakhtang Abrahamyan were present.
Experts of the “Big Four” auditing companies, employees of the Russian Federal Tax Service, as well as the employees of the RA Ministry of Finance and the SRC took part in the conference.
Deputy Chairman of the SRC Mikayel Pashayan noted that the regulation of problems related to the taxation of e-commerce is on the agenda for the RA government. “It is necessary to introduce such regulation mechanisms that will not hinder the development of the sector and will be in line with international best practice,” emphasized Mikael Pashayan, informing that an action plan will be formed as a result of meetings with experts.
During the conference, Deputy Chairman of the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation, Alexey Overchuk, presented the reforms made in the direction of taxation of electronic services and electronic commerce in the Russian Federation and their results.
The international conference was held with the support of the ”Assistance to Tax Administration and Policy Leadership” (STAPL) program implemented by the World Bank with funding from the “Good Governance Fund” of the United Kingdom government.
