The European Union (EU) has imposed a fourth round of sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine. Exports of steel and luxury goods and investment in Russia’s energy sector are banned. The assets of pro-Russian business leaders have also been frozen.
It also decided to lift Russia’s ‘status of’ favoritism ‘, suspend consideration of Belarus’ application for membership, and call on the World Trade Organization (WTO) to impose further sanctions. Exports of luxury goods to Russia are completely banned. Special tariffs will be levied on imports of products including vodka.
