Narek Mirzoyan, the founding director of the Jermuk Tourism Development Center, confirms that, compared to previous years, a certain decrease in the flow of tourists has been observed in the tourist town of Jermuk, but there is activity in terms of bookings in dairy farms ahead of the New Year.
“Considering that it is no longer an active tourist season, it is transitioning to the winter period, the tourist flow has slowed down. At the moment, the hotel facilities of the city, due to this, work lightly, they are not overloaded. But ahead of the New Year holidays, there are active reservations in the hotels,” he told Aysor.am.
According to Mirzoyan, all hotels and restaurants in Jermuk are working very hard during the New Year holidays and the following days. “Even now, the hotels have published the New Year’s packages, I have spoken with my colleagues, they are selling quite actively, small hotel farms are also selling one-off packages,” he said, adding, “the city is alive, the business is working.”
Let’s remind that yesterday at the session of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, the deputy of the “Armenia” faction, Tadevos Avetisyan, stated that the hotels in Jermuk are understaffed, and the deputy of the CP, Davit Arushanyan, also stated that there are hotels that do not have free seats in connection with the New Year.
It should be noted that according to the data presented by the AMC, 1963 people visited Jermuk in January-June 2023. For such indicators, the AMC took as a basis the tours (tours) organized by tourist operators/tourist agents.
