The expert said that spring in Russia has warmed by several degrees
Aleksey Kokorin, director of the climate program of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Russia, said that over the past half century, spring in the country has warmed by about three degrees.
The expert noted that over the decade, the air temperature in spring throughout the country increases by about 0.6 degrees.
At other times of the year, the weather also becomes warmer, but the changes are slower.
“In a decade, spring gets warmer by 0.6 ° C, autumn and winter by 0.5 ° C, and summer by only 0.4 ° C,” Sputnik quotes Kokorin.
The expert added that, according to scientists, winter should have been the leader of warming in Russia, but these forecasts were not confirmed.
At the same time, spring, as the leader of warming, is a purely Russian regional manifestation. At the same time, this does not guarantee hot spring months in 2022.
Earlier, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said when residents of the European part of Russia could start planting potatoes in their plots this year.
