New Delhi: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said in the Rajya Sabha that Kerala should not rush to implement the Silver Line project. The project is very complicated. The state government’s estimate of Rs 63,000 crore for the project is incorrect. According to the estimates of the Ministry of Railways, the cost will go above Rs 1 lakh crore.

Silverline has a number of technical and environmental issues. Ashwani Vaishnav said in the Rajya Sabha that a good decision will be taken for the good of Kerala.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the Silver Line. After the meeting, Pinarayi said that he hoped that the Center would take a favorable stand.
