Police opened an investigation about a week ago, upon receiving a report of the assault of a Ukrainian-born resident of Nahariya.
The investigation shows that between the suspect, a 56-year-old resident of Nahariya, and the victim, there were lawsuits against the background of the war in Ukraine and after that the suspect returned home, brought a stick, attacked the victim with it and caused a cut to his head.
Meanwhile, Nahariya police officers arrested the suspect for questioning at the city police station. The suspect’s detention was extended from time to time and yesterday, as stated, the Claims Division of the Israel Police filed a prosecutor statement against the suspect.
The Magistrate’s Court in Krayot ordered the release of the suspect and today an appeal will be filed in the District Court.
