Chengannur നാട്ട Locals chase away CPM leaders who came to explain at Venmani Punthala where the Silver Line project is passing. During the explanation, the local committee member said that he was not the right person to cross the line through this, which caused controversy in the party.
The locals met the people’s representatives and local committee members who reached Venmani panchayat 9th ward Punthala yesterday. They told the leaders not to listen to any justification and were not ready to leave the bedroom. Some said that if it is so necessary, write us your property and then we can leave the house.
The locals were not ready to buy pamphlets containing explanations. The leaders were adamant that the protest came on the instructions of the state leadership. The video of the incident went viral on social media.
The video also shows a local committee member saying he personally does not agree with losing your home or crossing the line while pacifying angry locals.
The line crosses 1.70 km in Venmani panchayath. 2.06 hectares will have to be acquired. In Mulakuzha and Venmani panchayats, 67 houses will be completely lost and 43 houses will be partially lost.
