Taliparamba: Police have registered a case against two persons, including her husband, for sexually assaulting a woman and attempting to kill her by hitting her with a vehicle. The case was registered against her husband, a native of Karimpam, and her husband’s friend Ashraf, 38, of Taliparamba. It is alleged that the friend sexually abused her 16 years ago with the connivance of her husband. The woman also alleged that her husband tried to kill her by pushing her down while riding a bike in 2021.
The case was registered against a woman near Taliparamba on the complaint of her husband and friend Ashraf. The incident took place in October 2006. The woman’s husband was abroad at the time. It is alleged that he went home with a friend after returning home and tortured the girl by giving her a soft drink laced with drugs. The woman says that he used to come home later.
The victim had a one-and-a-half-year-old child when she was abused. Later in 2021, while riding a bike, her husband pushed her down and tried to kill her. Payyannur DySP in charge of Taliparamba DySP KE Premachandran led the investigation.
