China launches new Earth observation satellite
From the Jiuquan launch pad in the Kobe Desert in northwest China, the satellite ‘Gaofen-3 03’ was launched by rocket at 7am yesterday and was placed in orbit.
Scientists say the satellite will be used to obtain reliable and stable high-resolution radar images, including for landscaping, environmental, forest monitoring and emergency disaster prevention.
