Deokhar: More than 50 stranded tourists have been rescued after a cable car collided with a ropeway on Jharkhand’s Trikuta mountain. Attempts continue to land two people who are still trapped. It was 45 hours after the accident. Helicopters of the Air Force, the Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police are continuing the rescue operation. Water and food were delivered by drone to those trapped.

Three people were killed in the crash. 12 people were injured. The accident happened around 4pm on Sunday. Travelers, including women and children, were stranded in cable cars. The couple, who tried to escape by jumping, were seriously injured. Authorities said the accident was caused by a technical problem. The manager and employees of the private company that runs the ropeway are absconding.

The Trikuta Hills are the highest ropeway in Jharkhand. The ropeway is located at a distance of 20 km from the Baba Baidyanath Temple and is 766 m long. There are 25 cabins that can seat 4 people each. Hundreds of tourists used to come on Sunday to visit the temple and see the sights on the occasion of Ram Navami.
