Due to the Tamil New Year, Good Friday, Saturday and Sunday being holidays for 4 consecutive days, the Coimbatore bus stand was heavily congested as people from the outer districts and college students living in Chennai left their hometowns.
In addition to the regular 2100 buses, 1200 special buses were operated. It has been announced that special buses will be operated to return to Chennai after the holidays.
