Spanish Table Tennis Federation Honors Veteran European Championship Medalists
The Royal Spanish Table Tennis Federation (RFETM) celebrated the achievements of its veteran players this week, recognizing their success at the recent European Championship.
The Royal Spanish Table Tennis Federation (RFETM) extended a heartfelt tribute to four athletes who secured medals at the European Championship for Veterans, held in Novi Sad, Serbia. The ceremony took place at the Camilo Cano Sports City pavilion, coinciding with the ongoing Spanish championships across all categories in La Nucía.
Among those honored was María Vintila, a standout player from Tabor de Arafo, alongside her teammates Josep Madurell, Svetlana Skobkina, and Joana Zilotin. Vintila achieved a bronze medal in the +60 age category, demonstrating remarkable skill and dedication.
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and perseverance of these athletes,” stated a senior RFETM official.
To support their continued participation in international competitions, the RFETM, under the leadership of President Miguel Ángel Machado, presented the medalists with a financial contribution. Furthermore, the athletes were equipped with official national team gear, preparing them for potential appearances at the upcoming World Championship for Veterans.
