Kelly Osbourne and Slipknot’s Sid Wilson Announce Engagement After Black Sabbath Reunion Show

Kelly Osbourne and Sid Wilson are officially engaged to be married, capping off a weekend of rock history and family celebration. The television personality, 40, and the Slipknot DJ, 48, confirmed their engagement following a proposal backstage at Black Sabbath’s highly anticipated reunion concert in Birmingham, England, on Saturday.

The couple, who began dating in February 2022 and welcomed their son, Sidney, later that year, have a history stretching back to 1999 when Wilson’s band toured with Ozzfest, the festival founded by Kelly’s parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. Their relationship blossomed from a long-standing friendship into a romantic partnership, culminating in this weekend’s heartwarming news.

The proposal took place in a particularly poignant setting: the final performance of Black Sabbath, with Ozzy Osbourne and bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward reuniting on stage for the first time in two decades. While the concert marked a bittersweet farewell to Ozzy’s touring career, it provided the perfect backdrop for Wilson to ask for Kelly’s hand in marriage.

Kelly shared a video of the moment on Instagram, playfully captioning it: ‘Oh and this happened yesterday!’ The clip reveals Wilson preparing to propose in front of Ozzy and Sharon. In classic Ozzy fashion, the rock legend initially interjected with a humorous objection – “F**k off, you’re not marrying my daughter, are you?” – before offering his blessing. Wilson then turned to Kelly, expressing his deep affection: “Kelly, you know I love you more than anything. Nothing would make me happier than to spend the rest of my life with you.” He continued, “So, in front of your family and all of our friends, Kelly, will you marry me?”

Overjoyed, Kelly leaped into Wilson’s arms after saying yes, as Ozzy and Sharon applauded the happy couple. The future groom then presented the ring for a closer look, prompting an enthusiastic reaction from Ozzy.

News of the engagement quickly spread online, prompting an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans and fellow celebrities. TV presenter Rylan Clark commented, “OMG KEL!!! Congraaatttsssss ❤️❤️❤️❤️”, while YungBlud simply exclaimed, “YAAAAAAY”. Lance Bass and Perez Hilton also joined the chorus of well-wishers, expressing their excitement for the couple.

The engagement comes after Kelly previously admitted she wasn’t particularly focused on marriage. “I found my guy. We don’t need the certificate,” she told Us Weekly last year. However, she acknowledged Sid’s desire for a wedding, stating, “But I know Sid really wants to get married, so we will get married. It’s not as important to me.” She elaborated, explaining that she had already experienced many special moments and wasn’t prioritizing a large-scale event. “Never in a million f*****g years did I think I’d end up with a rockstar partner, but I did.”

Looking ahead, Kelly expressed her desire to expand their family, stating she “definitely” wants to have “more babies” with Sid. The couple is also considering their long-term living arrangements, weighing options between staying close to studios or returning to the UK, where Kelly’s parents recently relocated after years in the United States. Kelly noted her preference for the UK school system, citing the benefits of uniforms and increased school safety.

The engagement and celebration unfolded against the backdrop of Ozzy Osbourne’s ongoing health challenges. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2020, Ozzy underwent spinal surgery the following year, leading him to halt touring. Despite mobility issues requiring the use of walking aids, he delivered a powerful performance at the Black Sabbath reunion, seated on a leather throne and expressing his gratitude to the audience. “It’s so good to be on this fg stage. You have no idea. I fg love you all,” he told the crowd. “I’ve been laid up for like six years. You have no idea how I feel—thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
