Stojanović Snub Fuels Fan Fury

New signing absent from Europa League qualifier squad.

  • Petar Stojanović was not included in Legia Warsaw’s squad for the Europa League qualifiers.
  • Fans are unhappy with the exclusion of the new signing.
  • Stojanović’s recent form has been a concern.
  • Legia Warsaw will face FK Aktobe in the qualifying rounds.

The burning question on every Legia Warsaw fan’s mind is: Why wasn’t Petar Stojanović included in the squad for the Europa League qualifiers? The answer appears to be that the defender isn’t yet in peak condition, leaving supporters frustrated.

Awaited Debut Delayed

Legia Warsaw had been building anticipation among fans, hinting at potential transfers. The arrival of Slovenian defender Petar Stojanović at Łazienkowska was finally meant to be a breath of fresh air.

Stojanović brings a resume boasting nearly 190 appearances for Dinama Zagreb and a stint with Empoli in Serie A. However, his past successes are now distant.

Did you know? Stojanović previously played for Salernitana, experiencing a less-than-ideal season that ended in relegation to Serie C.

No Sight of Action

The Legia faithful had hoped to see Stojanović in action during the Europa League qualifying clash with FK Aktobe. Those hopes were dashed when Legia did not include Stojanovic in the squad for the confrontation with the Kazakhs. He apparently isn’t in proper game shape yet.

According to legionenti.com, “The fireman Stojanović was not reported to this round, which started training only after a grouping in Austria.”

Upcoming Fixtures

Edward Iordănescu’s players will face Aktobe on July 10, with the return match a week later. The team will also compete against Lech Poznań in the Polish Super Cup.
